2020 WAMO Annual Conference

After thoughtful deliberations, the WAMO Board of Directors has made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the 2020 Conference and Tradeshow set to take place June 23 – 24 in Milwaukee.

We do not make this decision lightly and had deferred as long as possible in the hopes this outcome could be avoided. Unfortunately, it is now impossible to proceed with the in-person Conference in light of Milwaukee’s continued restrictions on mass gatherings and our responsibility to protect the health and safety of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, and staff.

Housekeeping items:

Elections: With the annual business meeting being cancelled as part of the Conference, elections for open Board of Director positions will be held electronically in late June. Please watch your email for the list of nominees and to place your vote in the weeks to come.

We have two director positions open on the Board. One of these positions is open to trade members to apply. If you are interested or would like to nominate someone, please email Chuck Beth or Amanda Soelle or call the WAMO Office at 608-709-1960.

CompuSport Training: WAMO intended to provide CompuSport training for staff and interested operators before league season begins this fall. Reminder, all pool leagues must be run on CompuSport this year. We are working on rescheduling this training. Please watch your email for updates and more information in the weeks to come.

Exhibitors: For all of our exhibitors who already committed to participate in the conference, you will receive a full refund of your registration within the next week. If you booked a room within the WAMO room block at the hotel, it has been cancelled. No action is necessary on your part. We are very grateful for your continued support of WAMO and look forward to seeing your latest products and services next year.

We appreciate this is disappointing news to our members who look forward to enjoying the many social events and industry updates the conference has to offer.  By communicating this decision to you, we hope to free up your time to focus on your accounts and getting back to business!

Please contact our Executive Director, Amanda Soelle, with questions or concerns ( / 608-709-1960).

2019 WAMO Annual Conference!

WAMO Members Come Together for a Fun & Productive Annual Meeting!

The Wisconsin Amusement and Music Operators Association (WAMO) held their fun-filled and informative Annual Conference and Tradeshow in Milwaukee on Thursday, June 20th through Friday, June 21st. President and Conference Committee Chair Steve Murphy created a fantastic event filled with business, networking and a whole lot of fun!

Thursday featured exciting networking events for operator members and exhibitors, including a chartered fishing trip on Lake Michigan and a well-attended golf outing at the Meadowbrook Country Club.

Thursday also offered training for operators’ staff including Technik pull-tab machine repair training, an introduction to networking, modems and routers and troubleshooting and programming with Banilla Games!

Attendees finished the day by attending a Carrie Underwood concert in a private suite at the brand new Fiserv Forum/Milwaukee Bucks stadium! WAMO’s exclusive space featured ample seating and room to walk about and mingle before the show and in between acts. Good drinks, great food and fellowship were enjoyed by all in attendance.

It is extremely rare to have such a strong legislative presence year after year, especially for a group of our relatively small size. This is a reflection of the work of WAMO’s active Legislative Committee, our lobbyist and our members.

The action continued during lunch where special guest and luncheon speaker AMOA President Emily Dunn provided a national update.

After lunch, the packed tradeshow opened, where valued WAMO trade members and industry manufacturers had the opportunity to show off their latest products, games and services. Special thanks to these WAMO Trade Members for their participation and support year-round:

Spouses Outing!

While the operators were tied up in meetings, the spouses enjoyed a day on the town beginning with a cooking class at Glorioso’s, followed by a trip to Foamation – the original maker of the famous Cheesehead – where the spouses had an opportunity to make their own Cheesehead or other foam products including crowns, cup holders and more.

Thank you to all of our members who attend the Annual Conference and Tradeshow!  YOU are what makes these events so special!
